Jeunesse Restigouche Youth

Jeunesse Restigouche Youth was created in 1995 following a federal provincial agreement named Youth Services Partnership.  Jeunesse Restigouche Youth groups federal and provincial departments and Restigouche agencies working together to help youth of the area make a successful transition from school to the labour market.

Vision

Jeunesse Restigouche Youth will help youth under 30 years of age become self-sufficient and realize their full potential within and educational and social context in order to be integrated into the labour market.

Mission

The Mission of Jeunesse Restigouche Youth is to enhance employability of youth under 30 years of age by encouraging partnership between government agencies, community, employers and youth.

Objectives

  • To inform youth and the community of the different programs and services available.
  • To promote the importance of completing secondary and post-secondary studies.
  • To promote to youth the importance of being well prepared for the labour market and the skills necessary to maintain a job.
  • To promote the benefits of volunteer work to youth.
  • To encourage entrepreneurial spirit among youth.

JRY Secretariat

The Jeunesse Restigouche Youth Secretariat is operated by Enterprise Restigouche and employs a co-ordinator.  The JRY Secretariat acts as the point of entry for youth who want to access youth program and services in Restigouche. The JRY Secretariat manages a youth reference service 759-6699 youth services telephone line and its youth services Web site  www.jry.org.

Jeunesse Restigouche Youth
Local Committee

The Jeunesse Restigouche Youth Local Committee is composed of representatives from government and local organizations working in a variety of sectors that involve youth and acts as an advisory committee on matters that affect youth.  Human Resources and Skills Development Canada and Family and Community Services N.B. lead the partnership and their representatives cochair the Local Youth Committee.
